With the global theme of “Stop TB in my lifetime” and RSA’s sub-theme “Zero infections, deaths, stigma and discrimination from TB & HIV in my lifetime” – Kick TB was once again on the forefront during the annual commemoration of World TB Day.  This year the Deputy President launched the National Strategic Plan where special emphasis will be placed on the TB/HIV situation in mines – especially gold mines.  The target is to reach 160 000 gold miners by World TB Day 2013!  Huge aspirations, but we already know – with Kick TB & HIV anything is possible!!!  From now onwards Kick TB will be referred to as Kick TB & HIV – we do not talk TB without talking HIV anymore!!!

'Kick TB' focused its messaging on taxi ranks, shopping malls, clinics and schools during the build up to World TB Day. 4200 learners were reached in the West Rand District!
